About

Cub Scout Pack 97 was originally founded around 2002 by families from Holy Family Catholic School. Since then, we have graduated hundreds of Cub Scouts to the next-level Scouts BSA program. In 2024 our charter organization changed to the Capitol Area Council. Since our re-charter, we still meet at Holy Family, and we still have a strong Catholic identity. We welcome any interested scout – regardless of school or faith – boys or girls – to join the program to be Prepared for Life!

Pack 97 embraces all aspects of the Cub Scout program. We run monthly Pack and Den activities to engage scouts with activities related to outdoor skills, STEM, leadership, fitness, reverence, and citizenship. We typically plan 2 camping trips per year to give scouts opportunities to practice and improve their skills. We run a competitive Pinewood Derby race enabling the scouts to craft, prepare, and compete in this well-known and creative competition. We encourage scouts to “learn by doing” in a safe environment where they can try more than once. Scouts are inspired to live up to the Cub Scout Motto – Do Your Best – while building lifelong friendships and having fun along the way.
